Terms of Use
Terms of Use
Last updated: October 29, 2026. By using PORTFLICK you agree to these terms.
Using the site
PORTFLICK is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may read, share links to and quote short excerpts of the content with credit and a link back to the page. Please do not copy entire entries or republish the library.
In practice that means you are welcome to link to any page, to mention what you learned here in a class paper or a conversation, and to quote a sentence or two when you name the source. It does not cover copying whole articles to another site, collecting the text into a database or product, or presenting it as your own writing.
What the site is
PORTFLICK is a reference website about horror cinema. It is a static site with no accounts, no user-generated content and no store. The pages are intended to inform, and nothing on them is an offer to sell anything or a request for money.
Our content
The text, structure and original artwork on PORTFLICK are owned by PORTFLICK unless stated otherwise. All rights are reserved. Nothing in these terms gives you a license to use the content beyond what is described on this page. If you want to use more than a short excerpt, write to us at [email protected] and describe what you have in mind.
How to cite and link
You may link to any page on PORTFLICK, including individual entries and sections, without asking. If you cite the site in a paper, a post or a video, give the title of the page, the name PORTFLICK, the address of the page and the date you read it. Please do not suggest that PORTFLICK sponsors or endorses your project unless we have agreed to that in writing. Because entries can be revised, the date you read a page is useful to anyone who wants to check your citation.
Third-party names and trademarks
Film titles, character names, franchises and related marks belong to their respective owners. They appear on PORTFLICK only to identify and discuss the works. PORTFLICK is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any studio or rights holder.
The site discusses films as works of history and criticism. It does not offer films for viewing or download, and it does not link to unauthorized copies.
Accuracy
We work to keep entries accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every detail is complete or current. Content is provided for general information. If you find an error, please tell us at [email protected]. The way we check facts is described in the Editorial Policy.
Entries are reference writing, not professional advice. Where a page mentions a rating, a release date or the availability of a film, treat it as background and check current information from the rights holder or a service before relying on it.
Links
The site may link to outside websites, including the sources listed at the end of entries. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices. A link does not mean that we endorse everything on the other site.
Acceptable use
Do not use the site in a way that disrupts it, attempts unauthorized access or scrapes it at a scale that affects other users. Ordinary browsing, searching and linking are, of course, welcome. If you are building something that needs a large amount of the content, please write to us first.
Concerns about content
If you believe a page contains an error, a rights problem or material that should not be on the site, write to [email protected] with the page address and a short description. Factual errors are handled as described in the Editorial Policy, and rights concerns as described on the Contact page. We take these reports seriously and respond as time allows.
Your information
The site has no accounts and collects no information through forms. How the site treats information is described in the Privacy Policy. Email you send us is handled as described there.
Availability and changes to the site
We may change, move or remove pages, and the site may sometimes be unavailable. We do not promise that it will always be online or free of errors. Address changes are possible when entries are reorganized, so if you save a link, keep in mind that it may not work forever.
Messages and suggestions
When you send us a message or a suggestion, we may use the ideas in it to improve the site. Your own words remain yours, and we will not publish your message or your name without asking you first. Please do not send material that you do not have the right to share.
Commercial use, adaptations and translations
Using PORTFLICK content for commercial purposes, such as in a product, a paid course, a book or a monetized video, needs our permission beyond a short, credited quotation. The same goes for translating, adapting or republishing entries. If you are unsure whether your use counts, write to [email protected] before you publish. We would rather answer a question early than sort out a problem later.
Teachers, students and researchers
Students, teachers and researchers are welcome to link to entries, to refer to them in coursework and to quote short passages with credit. Sharing the address of a page with a class is always fine. Distributing copies of whole entries is not covered, but if you have a classroom need that these terms do not meet, write to us and describe it. The sources listed at the end of each entry are the best route to the original material.
How to read these terms
These terms are written in ordinary language on purpose. They describe what we expect from visitors and what visitors can expect from the site, and they are meant to be understood without a lawyer. They apply to the site as it exists today: a static reference website with no accounts, no advertising and no sales. If the site changes in a way that makes these terms incomplete, we will revise them and update the date at the top.
Limitation of liability
The site is provided as is, without warranties of any kind. To the extent permitted by law, PORTFLICK is not liable for losses resulting from the use of the site or reliance on its content.
These terms are a plain-language set of ground rules for using a reference website. They do not attempt to choose which country's courts or laws apply, and they do not replace any rights you have under the law where you live.
Changes
We may update these terms from time to time. The date at the top shows the latest version. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the new terms.
Questions
If anything on this page is unclear, write to [email protected]. We will answer as time allows and will clarify the page if it can be made easier to understand.
