Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026. This page explains what happens to your information when you use PORTFLICK.
The short version
PORTFLICK does not ask you to create an account, does not sell personal information and does not currently run advertising or analytics scripts. The site has no contact form and no comment section. The pages load their styles, scripts and data files from portflick.com itself.
What we collect
We do not collect personal information through the site itself. The site has no login, no sign-up and no form that sends information to us. As with any website, the company that hosts the site may keep standard server logs, which commonly include details such as an IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the time of access. Such logs are kept for security and for keeping the site running. We do not run our own tracking or profiling on top of them, and this page does not describe the practices of the host beyond that general description.
Search and filters
The Movie Explorer filters the films in your browser. When you change a filter or type in the search box on the explorer page, the matching happens on your own device using data the page has already loaded. The page also updates its address to reflect your choices so that you can bookmark or share a view.
The search box in the header of every page works slightly differently. It sends you to the explorer page with your words added to the address, in the form of a query. That means the words you type are part of a page address. They appear in your browser's address bar and history, and, as with any page address, they are part of the request your browser makes to the site. Please do not type personal information into a search box, and keep in mind that if you share a link to a filtered view, the filters in it are visible to whoever receives it.
If you are concerned about a particular search, you can clear your browser history, use a private window or avoid the search box and browse through the section pages instead. Everything the search finds is also reachable through links, so nothing on the site requires you to type anything.
Cookies and browser storage
PORTFLICK does not set cookies of its own at this time. The site also does not use your browser's local storage or similar features to remember you or to track your visits. Your browser may keep its own cache and history, which you control through its settings.
Third-party services and advertising
There are no advertisements and no analytics services on the site at this time, and the pages do not load fonts, scripts or images from other companies. If we add advertising, analytics or other third-party services in the future, those providers may use cookies or similar technologies to serve and measure content. Before that happens, we will update this policy to describe the services used, what they collect and how you can opt out.
How pages load
PORTFLICK is a static website. Its pages are prepared in advance and served as they are, with no accounts or database behind them. Some pages, such as the home page and the Movie Explorer, also load a catalog data file from portflick.com so that the filters can work in your browser. That request goes to the same site and is not passed on to any other company by us.
Because there is so little going on behind the pages, there is very little information to protect, but no website can promise perfect security, and we do not claim it. What we can say is that we have designed the site so that it does not ask visitors for information it does not need.
Links to other sites
Entries list the sources they were built from, and some of those sources are web pages run by other organizations. When you follow a link to another website, you leave PORTFLICK, and that website's own privacy practices apply. We do not control them and cannot describe them here. If you want to know what another site does with your information, read its policy.
Email you send us
If you write to [email protected], we receive your email address and the content of your message, along with whatever else your email program includes. We use them only to reply and to improve the site, for example by correcting an entry. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not share them with others except where required by law.
How long email is kept
This policy does not set a fixed retention period for email. Messages are kept as long as they are useful for answering you and for tracking corrections to the library. If you want a message deleted sooner, write to [email protected] and ask.
Children
PORTFLICK is a reference site about horror films and is intended for a general adult audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because the site has no accounts and no forms, it has no way of asking for such information. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, write to us and we will delete it.
What this means in practice
In plain terms: you can read every page, use the search box and the filters, and follow every link without giving the site any personal information. The site does not ask who you are, does not try to follow you from page to page with its own tools and does not show advertising. The only moments when information passes to us on purpose are when you send an email, and then it is the information you choose to include. If any of this changes in the future, the policy will be updated first.
Your choices and changes
You can ask us what correspondence we hold from you or request deletion of any email correspondence by writing to [email protected]. You can also browse the site with no information given at all, since nothing on it requires you to identify yourself.
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page. The policy describes how the site works today. It is deliberately specific about that, because a statement about privacy is only useful if it is accurate, and we will revise it before any change to how the site operates takes effect.
Questions
If something here is unclear, or you think it does not match what the site does, please tell us at [email protected]. We will look into it and correct the page if it is wrong.
